I have always had a love for sports, and ever since I was young it was clear that my athleticism is what really stood out. I began playing soccer at 3, lacrosse at 5, and basketball at 7. My love for sports started here, and blossomed into a full fledged devotion to the sports I played. However, it was in 7th grade when I truly fell in love with the game: basketball. It was at this time when I realized what passion was. It was waking up at 6 A.M. to work on my form, getting to practice an hour early, and leaving two hours late when everyone had gone home. Basketball has turned me into the determined, hardworking, and team oriented person I am today. My freshman year, I worked so hard that I was a contender for varsity, and was eventually pulled up at the end of the season Sophomore year, I made varsity full time, and I did not wait to show what I had. I gave it my all, and while I was only one of the two underclassmen on the team, I never let that stop my stride to be the best. Junior year I became a starter, and let my love for the game takeover each time I was on the court. This year, I am captain, and cannot wait to lead my team on and off the court and create bonds with the underclassmen. Basketball is hard work, determination, and motivation, but most of all, it is fun. I am so grateful for this game, and my plan is to hold on to it for as long as possible.
